what am i doing?

With just about a month more to go before i return to singapore, i am trying to enjoy myself as much as poss. Although i have stopped travelling for 2 weeks, I am still spending my life in China pretty productively.

Yea, so what have i been doing? =)

Spiderman3

Besides being an unprecedented event to watch a movie in China, this time it is really meaningful as i watched it with grandpa steve!
I met grandpa Steve when i was in Xi'an (oh yar, during the dumpling making party). Although he is already 80+, he still travels to China every year, and each time he will stay for 2 months or so. So we met and we talked and he told me he would travel to Beijing after Xi'an.
So back in Beijing, we contacted via email and i decided to visit him at his hostel. My classmate,Yoyo, came along too. and blahblah the 2nd time we met was a day before his flight back to US. he wanted to watch a movie in china before returning to US so we brought him to Spiderman 3! =) Despite being dubbed in Mandarin cum the mandarin subtitles, he said it was helluva great movie. haha

The first time Yoyo and I visit grandpa Steve at the Beijing backpacker's hostel.

After the 2.5 hrs of movie, we had dinner together. When we passed by DQ, grandpa steve sorta got fascinated and wanted the DQ Blizzard ice-cream for dinner. I was like "eh are you sure?!", and he said " yes, i want the LARGE one" >_<" After that he told us he already planned to have DQ icecream first thing after he touched down in America. He has it once every 3 months. so cute.

And i tell you the icecream is super nice. The one in the picture is strawberry cheesecake with extra oreo. slurpilicious~!~!~! Its 13rmb ( ard $2.60) for a small one if i aint wrong. Somehow i thought it taste better than Baskin's. heehs. How much is it selling in spore?

Haha i miss Grandpa steve and i will think of him everytime i eat orange Julius's blizzard =)

Qiuling's Eric's Birthday

Last Friday was Eric's birthday and happily i was invited to the birthday dinner at some really posh Japanese restaurant in an at-least-4stars-hotel. And the food is omg darn good. =x food aside, it was a great party as all of us come from different countries! Theres Singaporean, Malaysian, American, Australian, French, Korean, Jap, PRC and etc. Cool aint it?

A table full of food!

We had jap buffet for just 80RMB! althou this is easily the most expensive meal (one whole peking duck is only ard 50rmb) i have since i came but its really cheap if you compare it with SIngapore's.
And the food is heavenly! The gyuniku, agedashi tofu, ginko nuts, maki, ICECREAM, and esply the SASHIMI were all downright heavenly. and hence, i wont mind going again despite the train-train-train-bus distance and 80rmb. Who's interested? =)

Free flow of oyster!

me, Manling,qiuling and eric.

with Manling.
Perhaps i should name my daughter manling. ALL the 3 manling i know thus far are pretty ladies.

and with the birthday kid.

GYM

yeah, with a month more to go without travelling, I thought it would be good to pick up something new in china. which i did. Hee i have signed up for a month's membership at my classmate's gym. Its only 260rmn ( student price) for the gym, yoga, pilate, dance lessons, steam and sauna room. where to find such deal in spore?

yeah this is it. just beside SIHUI East MRT. hahas

Pretty dubious looking ehs =x

This is one section of the gym. I dont work out here. i work out at the cardio section and the treadmills come with TV!
I will take photo tonite, with the yoga room.
cant take the steamroom and sauna thou, people goes in naked. i mean, people here likes to go ard naked, just like those prc in s'pore. its a common practice and they dont feel awkward. and hence over here, i am like a freak walking ard in clothes. =x

yeah. and with all the workouts, i promise to come back with a flat tummy. lols

Cheers,
Liiyii
