how many days more?

Its getting nearer. But the nearer it gets, the harder it is. I CANT WAIT NO MORE. i pretty understand geok's feeling now.. i wanna go home. seriously. okay another 2 weeks.

Of course there are things in china that i cant bear to part with. MY room! the kinda freedom being in an air-con room, with a TV right infront of my bed, with an attached toilet and aunties to tidy up my room everyday although they didnt get to do it for more than 2 weeks already. Seriously i fell in love with the feeling of just happily doing whatever i want in the room, waking up at 3am and start singing to myself, watching tv like nobody's business, and leaving the room as messy as.. (cant be described).

Lotsa things that i will remember too. the funny water dispenser that will auto reboil every 30 mins or so, creating some really LOUD noise that would shocked me out of bed when i first arrived in march. Well, it no longer has that kind of effect, immuned to it. and at times its a comfort to this silent room. will remember the creative innovation geok did to our faulty shower head. although i think without it, my arm will be leaner now. and the spinach with egg dish, i am still eating it everyday, still loving it.

things i couldnt accept in the past, like the sticky corn here, i love it now. the oil soaked dishes, i am used to. i am blending in. and i think i speak with a kinda cheena accent now. oh wells.

But i gotta get out of this place. i am blending pretty in, which i am not very comfortable with. i am getting nasty, just like the nasty people here. you see, you have to be nasty inorder to survive here. in the past, when funny people approached me at xidan, i would politely say no thanks. after awhile, i started to just walk away. and now, after 4 months, i go "你可以走开吗?!”
in the past when people pushed, stepped or knocked on me, i would feel pitiful for myself and silently walk off, now i say " fcuk" right in their faces. and that happen like 3 times a day.

So i prefer staying in my room. i am a nicer girl in here. and i no longer feel bored. i can stay 3 days in my room ( except for the time i go off for gym) and feel perfectly fine and thoroughly entertained.

So i needa go home. cant wait to eat a nice pint of icecream on cathay. and first time flying by myself. cool

count down 17 days.

excited!!

after doing tonnes of research and reading blogs on hongkong, i must say i cant sustain my excitment anymore!!!! one more month to go!!! gambatte kudasai!!

Buts, theres are some fears i have on my trip to hk!

First thing first, i am not really afraid of running out on cash, but i am afraid my luggage will go over the weight limit!! shucks

And second thing second, i am afriad of those dizzy spells i always get when i roam around freaking crowded streets. And i will get overwhelmed so much so that.. i dont know i will feel like vomitting. shucks, i am turning into my mom. or perhaps i really have very low blood pressure. pls dont let that happennn..

Third thing third, i will be there alone. And i cant speak cantonese except for some " i love you" and " i like you" phrases( learnt in song lyrics)...

And forth thing forth, theres alot of good food there. Desserts and stuff, and i have the tendency to eat myself mad when i am alone.

OKay cool. but i am still freaking excited!!! shoppppping spreeee, here i come!! =) =)

bored to death

The last week almost bore me to death. Everything has became a routine - wake up, go online, slack, take a nap, go gym, back online. sleep. And hence, somehow i'm pretty looking forward to coming back. But before that, i will head to Hongkong ( booked my flight and hostel there already!!). YUNWEN, dont tell my mom, i am not suppose to go to hongkong. thanks! =x
GYM GYM GYM

I just realised i went to gym everyday last week. So its kinda like a yoga-pilate-treadmill-insanity kinda week. AND somehow they really work, or perhaps i am hallucinating, but i really feel lighter. hiaks. And i strongly recommend PILATE if you wanna get rid of ya tummy. SERIOUS.

I sneaked some photos in the studio. Not bad right the room? yeah this is where they hold the pilate and yoga lessons.

ANd myself.

The instructor was teaching yoyo how to make her legs slimmer or something..

And me after spending 80 mins on the treadmill.

Cheers!

BEIJING IKEA

I almost ran out on places to go. So i thought of going IKEA to have a tad taste of home. Well, the design and everything are the same. Blue and yellow, spacious..

Buttt...

When you look closer at the furnitures,
then ya will realise something is amiss.

Look at the beds.

messiness

LOOK!!! the super uncivillised people here actually took the chance to sleep and rest at IKEA. freak hell.

Hees, Mirrors are my best fwen now, when i am alone that is.

And my fav swedish meatballs to end the day. + an icecream cone and cheesecake. =x=x=x=x

FOODIE SAT @ WANFUJIN

after not stepping out of the area for 2 days and almost got bored to death at home. i told myself that i had to get out no matter what last saturday. And i did, to wanfujin, one of the more boring places in beijing. But no problem, i can always entertain myself with food and myself.

Presenting to you my fav icecream in CHINA again!! This time i had mango cheese cake with extra oreo bits. Sadly the combi doesnt really go well. the strawberry one tastes better. yumm yumm

whenever i pass by Beard papa, i will be enchanted by the aroma. But i know somehow or rather crem puff aint my cup of tea. buts i decided to give it another chance so i bought it! 6rmb only anyways.

And guess what. i really dont like it.
But i finished it nonetheless. shrug

FINISHED FOOD. Freaking sinful cann!! And that wasnt all, i had some freaking huge red bean ice kachang kinda thing after that.... heehees

OKay ok, last picture of food. This thing is super nice... i love SAN YUAN food. its all made of yoghurt. and this ball thingy has meatfloss for the outer layer, and the white colour thingy is some form of yoghurt and theres walnut i think. super nice. slurps.

after the super sinful eating session which totally wasted my effort at the gym, i went to do the most boliao thing that only the highly bored-and-on-the-verge-of-getting-crazy people will do. And i had fun =X

HEE, i went to MNG and grabbed all the colourful clothes that aint really my style and started snapping away in the changing room.

hee.. its quite fun really =x

orange colour quite nice ehs?

This colour is more me. hehs

narcism.

maybe i shall do that in hongkong if i get bored. but i doubt i will~~

back to myself!!

what am i doing?

With just about a month more to go before i return to singapore, i am trying to enjoy myself as much as poss. Although i have stopped travelling for 2 weeks, I am still spending my life in China pretty productively.

Yea, so what have i been doing? =)

Spiderman3

Besides being an unprecedented event to watch a movie in China, this time it is really meaningful as i watched it with grandpa steve!
I met grandpa Steve when i was in Xi'an (oh yar, during the dumpling making party). Although he is already 80+, he still travels to China every year, and each time he will stay for 2 months or so. So we met and we talked and he told me he would travel to Beijing after Xi'an.
So back in Beijing, we contacted via email and i decided to visit him at his hostel. My classmate,Yoyo, came along too. and blahblah the 2nd time we met was a day before his flight back to US. he wanted to watch a movie in china before returning to US so we brought him to Spiderman 3! =) Despite being dubbed in Mandarin cum the mandarin subtitles, he said it was helluva great movie. haha

The first time Yoyo and I visit grandpa Steve at the Beijing backpacker's hostel.

After the 2.5 hrs of movie, we had dinner together. When we passed by DQ, grandpa steve sorta got fascinated and wanted the DQ Blizzard ice-cream for dinner. I was like "eh are you sure?!", and he said " yes, i want the LARGE one" >_<" After that he told us he already planned to have DQ icecream first thing after he touched down in America. He has it once every 3 months. so cute.

And i tell you the icecream is super nice. The one in the picture is strawberry cheesecake with extra oreo. slurpilicious~!~!~! Its 13rmb ( ard $2.60) for a small one if i aint wrong. Somehow i thought it taste better than Baskin's. heehs. How much is it selling in spore?

Haha i miss Grandpa steve and i will think of him everytime i eat orange Julius's blizzard =)

Qiuling's Eric's Birthday

Last Friday was Eric's birthday and happily i was invited to the birthday dinner at some really posh Japanese restaurant in an at-least-4stars-hotel. And the food is omg darn good. =x food aside, it was a great party as all of us come from different countries! Theres Singaporean, Malaysian, American, Australian, French, Korean, Jap, PRC and etc. Cool aint it?

A table full of food!

We had jap buffet for just 80RMB! althou this is easily the most expensive meal (one whole peking duck is only ard 50rmb) i have since i came but its really cheap if you compare it with SIngapore's.
And the food is heavenly! The gyuniku, agedashi tofu, ginko nuts, maki, ICECREAM, and esply the SASHIMI were all downright heavenly. and hence, i wont mind going again despite the train-train-train-bus distance and 80rmb. Who's interested? =)

Free flow of oyster!

me, Manling,qiuling and eric.

with Manling.
Perhaps i should name my daughter manling. ALL the 3 manling i know thus far are pretty ladies.

and with the birthday kid.

GYM

yeah, with a month more to go without travelling, I thought it would be good to pick up something new in china. which i did. Hee i have signed up for a month's membership at my classmate's gym. Its only 260rmn ( student price) for the gym, yoga, pilate, dance lessons, steam and sauna room. where to find such deal in spore?

yeah this is it. just beside SIHUI East MRT. hahas

Pretty dubious looking ehs =x

This is one section of the gym. I dont work out here. i work out at the cardio section and the treadmills come with TV!
I will take photo tonite, with the yoga room.
cant take the steamroom and sauna thou, people goes in naked. i mean, people here likes to go ard naked, just like those prc in s'pore. its a common practice and they dont feel awkward. and hence over here, i am like a freak walking ard in clothes. =x

yeah. and with all the workouts, i promise to come back with a flat tummy. lols

Cheers,
Liiyii
