29th February 08

"Leap Year has been the traditional time that women can propose marriage. In many of today's cultures, it is okay for a woman to propose marriage to a man. Society doesn't look down on such women. However, that hasn't always been the case. When the rules of courtship were stricter, women were only allowed to pop the question on one day every four years. That day was February 29th. "

Chinese New Year 2008

Chinese New year 2008 has been a joyous one thus far. Was especially excited this year as I could enjoy a decently long break from work, doubled up with cj's (short) return.

Like past years, mom would bake her own pineapple tarts, and i would be her assistant. =D
And as usual, I would irritate my mom with strange shapes and designs.

Coolness right. A basket of truffles =)

And smiley face.

and pineapple shapes; and a seemingly obscene looking one.

The end product minus the funny shapes which are packed
separately, and specially for cj.

Its a tradition for my family to celebrate cny in Malaysia. True enough, its really more fun and vibrant over there than in Singapore with the fire crackers and all. Abit quieter this year though. Thought i was the only one feeling that way but apparently not. Perhaps yunwen and family wasnt around and hence the difference, perhaps it was the absence of grandpa - i dont know.

Anyway this is the very place i spent my cny days in:

Yeh here it is. I spent 21 years of cny days here.

welcome in =D

Spot the difference yunwen!! Do you even know where this is?? haa

Spot the difference again Yunwenn!!

young cousie having fun with cj while he acted like a statue.

Lotsa durians in the garden!

Taking photos and feeding the mozzies.

Had a fair share of fun back in Singapore as well. And not forgetting seeing and hugging the lil cuties that i missed so so so much ( more than i missed their uncle).

@ no signboard seafood restaurant with the lil kids. They have grown up havent they?

So sweet of Angus to sit there by himself, eating quietly...

he doesnt like his uncle!

and he's super distracted by a doggie tt was wearing cheongsum.

--

And lastly, spent Sunday Night at Cafe Del Mar.

Cj's company event.

Its really a nice and relaxing place to enjoy the sea breeze, good food and drinks with a few good friends. Too bad i didnt know anyone there and had to act demure, or else it would be a cool night chilling out.
